Hi, I’m Hannah
I’m the founder of Ward Wisdom. I write the guides, build the printables and answer the questions that land in my inbox.
My role here is Founder & Nurse Resource Curator. In plain words, I take the questions nursing students and working nurses ask about school, shifts and careers. Then I turn them into clear, practical guides you can use right away.
Why Ward Wisdom exists
I started this blog because nurses and nursing students deserve resources that are practical, honest and kind to their time.
Too much advice online is vague or recycled. Some of it is written by people who have never pulled an all-nighter before an exam or limped out of a **12-hour shift**.
Ward Wisdom gives you clear, well-researched help for school, shifts, careers and self-care. The goal is simple: you feel prepared, organized and supported at every stage of nursing.
It is not a generic lifestyle blog with a nurse theme. Every guide is written from a nurse-life point of view, in one calm place you can trust.
What you will find here
Ward Wisdom covers the whole path, from pre-nursing applications to the late-career questions nobody warns you about. Here is what lives on the site:
- Nursing School: study plans, clinical tips and application help.
- NCLEX Prep: strategies to help you study with a plan, not panic.
- Nurse Brain Sheets: templates to organize your patients and your shift.
- New Grad Nurses: survival tips for the first months on the floor.
- Shift Meal Prep: food ideas for long days and night shifts.
- Scrubs & Gear: honest gear reviews and what to look for.
- Self-Care & Burnout: real talk about tiredness, limits and recovery.
- Career & Money: career changes, budgeting and pay questions.
- Nurse Gifts: ideas for the nurses in your life.
Many guides come with printable tools. You can print one and carry it into your next clinical or shift. The Free Resources page collects the free ones in one spot. If you are new, the Start Here page is the best place to begin.

How we create our content
Every guide is researched carefully before it goes live. I want you to know where each idea comes from.
So I tell you three things clearly:
- When something is my opinion.
- When something comes from a source.
- When a link earns me a commission.
That last one matters. Some posts contain affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you buy through them. Ads and affiliate links never decide what I recommend. You can read the full details on the Affiliate Disclosure page, and the Editorial Policy page explains how we research, write and update our guides.
What we do not do (not medical advice)
Ward Wisdom is an educational resource. It is not medical advice.
Nothing here replaces your instructors, your facility policies or your own professional judgment. If a guide and your unit’s policy disagree, follow the policy and ask your preceptor or manager.
The same goes for money and career topics. They are general information, not personal financial advice. The Disclaimer, Medical Disclaimer and Financial Disclaimer pages explain the details.
Let’s connect
I want Ward Wisdom to be useful to the people who do this work. If a guide helped, or if it missed something you needed, I’d like to hear about it. Your questions often become my next post or printable.
You can reach me through the Contact page.
Grab a coffee, pull up a chair, and let’s make your next shift, semester or career move a little easier.
